Getting the most out of your fundraising campaigns has never been easier, start boosting your donations with Donorbox and Kindful.
Kindful helps organizations increase fundraising effectiveness through an intuitive CRM system, integrated online fundraising tools, and in-depth donor analytics.
If you don’t have the right system, managing your donors can be difficult, frustrating, and time-consuming. With Donorbox and Kindful, you can organize data and manage your donors better.
To join Donorbox and Kindful, we will be using Zapier. Zapier is the glue that connects more than 1000 web apps. You can use it to automate repetitive tasks without coding or relying on developers to build the integration. You can move info between these two apps automatically, so you can focus on your most important work. It’s easy enough that anyone can build their own app workflows with just a few clicks.
So let’s get started. Zapier thinks about software integrations in terms of Triggers and Actions. Activity in one app triggers a resulting action in another app, without you needing to do any work.
You will need to create an account on Zapier, once you are logged in. Click on ‘Make a Zap’.
Look up for Donorbox, as your trigger app.
The first trigger that we are going to choose is new Donor.
Then you need to connect with Zapier. Your username will be your login email, and your api key can be found here.
If your connection is successful your trigger will be ready.
The next step will be to connect with Kindful.
Please note that you won’t be able to find Kindful on Zapier’s app directory. You need a special invitation link which can be found here. Copy and paste this link in the same browser where you’re logged into Zapier. You’ll be taken to an invitation page. There you can click “Accept Invite & Go To Dashboard” to add Kindful to your Zapier account.
Once you have signed up or logged in to your Kindful account, you can proceed to the next steps as given below.
The next step, after you have successfully connected will be to choose the action. Please remember that a trigger in Donorbox should result in an action in Kindful. We have several actions to choose in Kindful:
– Create or Update Person Contact
– Create or Update Organization Contact
– Create Transaction for Person Contact
– Create Transaction for Organization Contact.
For now, we will be using only 2. Create a Person and create a Transaction.
You can select create a person and then we will need to update the template.
You can add as many information as you need on the template.
The main points are:
– Source Name: Donorbox
– First Name, Last Name and Email need to be grabbed from Donorbox.
– There are many other parameters that you can fill to get more info into Kindful, such as address, birthday, or employer.
After finish editing and testing, you can name your Zap and turn it on. This will automatically create a new contact in Kindful every time a new donor is created.
Once the first zap is fired. You will be able to see the information in your Kindful account. In your dashboard, it will show a new contact created.
The other important information that we need to record is transactions. Every new donation in Donorbox will be a transaction in Kindful. We should follow the same steps as before, now the Donorbox trigger will be a donation. The Action in Kindful will create a transaction for person contact.
Follow the same steps as before to fill out the template, you will need the same information as before plus an amount donated. A new transaction will record the amount and also update or create the contact.
This will be all for this integration. Now you can get your donations in Donorbox and find important insightful information about your campaigns in Kindful. You can get more successful campaigns now, it shouldn’t be so hard to do good.
