How To Add Internal Notes for Donations and Donors

Their donations make it possible to do the great work you’re doing. Your donors are your biggest asset and one of your campaign’s most effective marketers. You need a way of managing these precious relationships. And that’s why we’ve introduced a great new feature that you’re going to love: Donation Notes and Donor Notes.

Donation and Donor Notes are quick and handy little snippets of additional info you can add to each donation and donor record. Every donation you receive is important to you. And our new Notes feature will help you manage each donation and donor with a more personal touch.

So what kind of additional info can you add? Well, pretty much any text-based notation. If you have a team of people working with you, you could leave them instructions on how to proceed with specific donations or donors. You could leave a reminder for steps to take later. Or record ideas that you can implement at a more appropriate time. Donation and Donor Notes are for internal use. So, only you and your linked team members will be able to see them. They will be invisible to Donors.


How do I Add Notes For My Donations?


Step 1

The first step is to log into your Donorbox Org account. Go to your Donorbox dashboard. Click the Donations tab, as shown here:

This will bring up a complete list of all the donations you’ve received. We’ve added an extra column called “Notes”. This is where your Donation Notes will go.


Step 2

Find the donation you want to add a note to and click the “+ Add notes” link next to it. A small text window will pop up where you can type in your notes. Hit “Save” and you’re done.


Step 3

To make changes, just click the Edit icon below your note and make your update, as required.


How do I Add Notes For My Donors?


Step 1

First, log into your Donorbox Org account. Go to your Donors page, as shown here:

This will show you a list of all donors that have donated to your Organization. Each donation you receive is linked to an email address. A Donor record is created for each unique email address and is updated every time another donation is received for that same email address.


Step 2

As before, click the “+ Add notes” link next to the Donor record you want. A small text window will pop up where you can type in your notes. Hit “Save” when you’re done.


Step 3

To make changes, just click the Edit icon below your note and make your update, as required.
