10 Best Examples of Church Vision Statements

Church mission and vision statements can help promote a church’s message and share its goals. A mission will clarify the connection a church has with God. The vision can show how that mission can bring the church into the future and spread God’s love.

Vision statements are crucial, whether you’re planting a new church or looking to revamp your church’s culture. But sometimes it can be difficult to hit the right tone with your vision statement.

The following 10 church vision statements can inspire you to develop a compelling statement of your own. Use the tips to write your own as you work with your team to develop a persuasive message that connects you to the Lord.

10 Church Vision Statements That Are Beautiful and Effective

1. Faith Alive

Faith Alive is a Christian church located in Saskatoon, Canada. This church started in 1980 in the founder’s home and built a new location in 1985. As they’ve grown, they have raised enough to move to a larger building.

Vision: “With one hand toward God and the other toward people, we commit ourselves to be used by God to Rescue, Recover, & Restore people who have never experienced the Presence and Power of God.”

What we like: Faith Alive’s “About Us” page reveals its mission and vision statement. They also do an excellent job backing up their messages with biblical text and details about how they will achieve their mission and vision.

How it can improve: There is a lot of information on this page but too little visual stimulation. They could limit the written details to only what’s necessary and add a few pictures of their programs as visual guides.

2. Banner Church America

Screenshot of Banner Church America's website showing their vision statement.

The Banner Church America has a primary focus on developing and spreading its message. This church’s headquarters is in Taichung City in China, but it aims to grow its church worldwide.

Vision (shortened): “Our vision is to win the lost to the Lord and to equip the saints for the work of ministry

Our calling is to build strong churches all over the world,

Proclaiming God’s year of jubilee and filling the whole earth with the glory of God”

What we like: Banner Church America created and added a compelling video to their “About Us” page to explain how their vision will share God’s message.

How it can improve: If Banner Church had a different audience, we might recommend more text and details on how they’ll achieve their vision. However, because there is a mix of cultures that follow this church, the video that focuses primarily on images will likely have a greater impact.

3. Macquarie Life Church

Macquarie Life Church is located in Macquarie Hills, New South Wales. Their focus is on their followers and their work to build a community.

Vision: “Towards Christ”

What we like: Macquarie Life Church’s vision is short and easy to find. They’ve also done an excellent job backing it up with scripture.

How it can improve: A short vision statement is great, but Macquarie Life Church’s vision may be too short to convey its message. We would suggest that they add a few details on how their programs will help them reach their mission immediately after stating their vision.

4. Renewed Church

Renewed Church’s website has several ways to make visitors feel welcome and comfortable. Clear tabs, personal messages, and programs all make it easy to learn about the church.

Vision: “A church where all are loved, purpose is found, and lives are changed.”

What we like: Their vision is clear and compelling. It’s also easy to find, and the page includes scripture to back it up.

How can it improve: Renewed Church could add more images and program details on the information page with links so people can see how the church plans to fulfill its mission.

5. Crystal Church

Screenshot of Crystal Church's website showing their vision statement.

The Crystal Church of New York is located in Flushing. Their leadership team and many members come from Korea, China, and the United States.

Vision (shortened): “Crystal Church of New York strives to be a place where we are committed to Jesus Christ and our Community. We believe that relevant worship, fellowship, and service are vital for spiritual growth. Therefore, we are committed to worshipping God passionately, teaching the Bible practically, and serving our three levels of Community: church, local, and global.”

What we like: Their vision includes details on how they’ll achieve their goals. It is also the first thing you see on the organization’s “About” page.

How can it improve: Crystal Church’s vision is very long and may discourage people from reading the whole thing. It may be better to split the vision into one overall goal and provide specifics as a separate section.

6. Dwelling Place

Screenshot of Dwelling Place's website showing their vision statement.

Dwelling Place believes God works through relationships. They meet in members’ homes for a meal and strive toward making all visitors comfortable.

Vision: “We exist to see Jesus treasured by multiplying faith-filled disciples through multiplying missional/maturing Gospel Communities throughout our area in Seattle and among unreached peoples.”

What we like: When visiting the website, it’s easy to find Dwelling Place’s vision.

How can it improve: Since its mission focuses on Gospel Communities, sharing details on the church and mission may be easier if they include links to those communities on the same webpage.

7. MAE El Salvador

Screenshot of MAE's website.

MAE El Salvador’s goal is to give hope to the youth of El Salvador. They spread Jesus’s message to younger generations and develop teams to reach out to others, provide service, and teach a class.

Vision: “To see Salvadoran youth healed through Christ’s love and leading changed, productive, abandoned lives for His glory.”

What we like: MAE El Salvador shares its mission, vision, and core values on a single page. They are very clear and include pictures that share their story.

How can it improve: Unfortunately, as clear as their mission and vision page is, it isn’t as easy to find as it should be. The church has hidden it as an extension of its “About Us” page instead of including it on the same page or making it part of its Home page.

8. Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County

Screenshot of the website for Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County showing their vision statement.

Catholic Charities is based in Santa Clara County in San Jose, California. They have the same Christian values as other Catholic churches and provide emergency relief, food, health care, housing, and more to families in the area.

Vision: “We envision a valley where every child has the opportunity to learn from cradle to career and lives in a neighborhood free from fear, where families can afford to live in safe and decent housing and eat nutritious food, and where enterprising workers can earn enough to make ends meet and save for the future, where immigrants are welcomed, and where those who are imprisoned, physically, and mentally ill, elderly, and vulnerable find healing and hope.”

What we like: Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County’s vision is very specific about what they hope to achieve. They provide a clear vision statement on their “About Us” page, located under their mission and above their values.

How can it improve: The vision statement is very long and may have a stronger impact if they lay it out differently. We’d recommend separating out each individual goal and including an image of their programs.

9. Calvary Baptist Church

Calvary Baptist Church’s home is in Concord, Virginia. The original church was founded in 1901 as Fisher Memorial Baptist Church. In 1950, the church was renamed. In 2017, the church decided on a new path and expansion project.

Vision: “We will enable and empower a community of saints to evangelize and embrace the world through Christ’s love.”

What we like: Calvary Baptist Church shares its mission and vision on a separate webpage, along with links to its social media and service details. Their vision is simple and straightforward.

How can it improve: The vision and webpage may have an even better impact if they add more pictures or a welcome message and link to learn more.

10. Brown Line Church

Screenshot of Brown Line Church's website showing their vision statement.

Brown Line Church started in 2013 and works towards a more progressive and secular society. It’s based in the Northside of Chicago and connects with its followers through humor and humility.

Vision: “An inclusive, progressive church with a healthy sense of humor and humility.”

What we like: Brown Line Church has a unique, clever vision that catches your attention. Their “About Us” page shares the church’s story and clarifies its values.

How can it improve: The section on Brown Line’s Philosophy is long and too in-depth to be added to the same page as the vision and values of the organization. It would be best to separate this section and the leadership from the rest, possibly on a separate page or even in a blog.
