Get Started With Donorbox

Step 1: Export Your Data

Before closing your easyTithe account, make sure to export all your data, especially recurring giving, because once your account is canceled, you won’t be able to access it anymore.

EasyTithe recommends exporting the following information:

1 year of transactions, deposits, fees, and invoices
A complete list of donors
A complete list of recurring gifts
Event form responses
Auto-generated reports (delete if unneeded)
All financial/tax data (easyTithe staff may follow up to ensure this is complete)

Here’s how you can export your data:

Log in to your Manager Dashboard.
Click the Settings gear icon.
Select Data Export.
Under Export Profiles, open the dropdown and choose Custom (.csv).
Set your desired Start Date and End Date, then use the Formula field to define which fields you’d like to include.
Click Export Data – your donation data will download as a file to your device.

Step 2: Create Your Donorbox Account

Let the church fundraising begin! You’re all set to create your Donorbox account.

Here’s how to get started:

Sign up for free! Create your account in just a few minutes.
Connect Stripe and/or PayPal. Donations will go directly to your bank.
Set up your first campaign. Choose a simple donation form or a full page, customize it with your branding, and set up recurring giving options.
Share your campaign. Embed the form on your website, send a donation link, or use a pop-up form to reach potential donors.

Step 3: Migrate Your Data and Recurring Donations to Donorbox

Donorbox has a team of experts ready to help you seamlessly transfer your easyTithe data to your new Donorbox account.

For donors with recurring gifts, make sure they understand that scheduled payments will stop once your easyTithe account is closed, and provide clear next steps for setting up recurring giving with Donorbox if you decide to move over your recurring plans yourself.

Tips for a smooth transition:

Log in to easyTithe and prevent any new donations from being scheduled.
Set your easyTithe forms to “EXPIRED” so donors can no longer access them.
Cancel all recurring gifts to avoid future charges.
Create a landing page on your website with step-by-step instructions and FAQs.
Share key details like the switch date and a link to your new Donorbox giving page.
Send reminder emails with easy instructions for setting up recurring gifts with Donorbox.

Step 5: Cancel Your easyTithe Account

Here’s how to cancel your easyTithe account:

Fill out the cancellation request form. (Note: Only the primary admin should request account cancellation.)
After submitting, easyTithe will review your final billing. Once that’s complete, you’ll no longer be charged unless you decide to reactivate your account. (Note: If your subscription renews within the agreed timeframe, your payment method will be charged, and no refund will be issued.)

As a reminder, once your account is canceled, you will lose access to donor and financial data. Be sure to download all needed reports before submitting your request. If your data was preserved during the cancellation window, you can reactivate your account later by contacting easyTithe support.
