Juneteenth Donations: Where to Give & How to Support in 2025
Are you looking for ways to make your Juneteenth donation count this year? There are plenty of amazing nonprofits out there honoring the important meaning behind Juneteenth. Read on to discover where your donations can make the biggest impact.
Did you know that on average, Black-led organizations operate with revenues 24% lower than white-led organizations? That’s one reason why Juneteenth – which marks the end of slavery in the United States – isn’t just about celebrating freedom, but also about taking action.
By making Juneteenth donations to relevant causes, you’re helping to support Black communities, close funding gaps, and keep the spirit of progress alive.
Top Juneteenth Charities to Support in 2025
Wondering where to donate for Juneteenth? I’ve rounded up six incredible nonprofits doing real work to support Black communities that you can give to on June 19th. Here they are.
1. Black Outside, Inc
Mission: To reconnect Black, African American youth with the outdoors.
Black Outside (BOI) is a Texas-based nonprofit with a truly inspiring mission. It was founded to rectify the fact that only 1% of Texas state park visitors identify as Black/African American.
The nonprofit has three main initiatives you can support:
Camp Founder Girls: As America’s first Black summer camp for girls, this program is making history!
Homecoming: This program connects Black families to the land through community-based activities.
Brothers with the Land: A program that wields the power of the outdoors to teach African American boys about leadership and healing.
BOI seeks not only to diversify the outdoors but also grow a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts and leaders! Some of the organization’s key achievements to date include:
16,000+ hours spent outdoors
600+ youths served
16 national and state parks visited
So, what kind of impact will Black Outside make with your Juneteenth donation? That depends on how much you give. Your gift could help send a student on their very first overnight camping trip, or fund Wilderness First Aid training for one of the volunteer leaders who guide these life-changing outdoor adventures.
Take a look at how Black Outside makes giving tangible by describing exactly how each donation will help the organization:
Juneteenth celebrates Black freedom – and Black Outside helps expand that freedom into the outdoors, where access hasn’t always been equal.

2. Miss Juneteenth USA
Mission: To encourage young African American women to embrace their diversity and culture while pursuing higher educational goals.
The Miss Juneteenth USA Pageant strives to go beyond the standard beauty pageants, magnifying the Black Experience through education, community service, and cultural awareness.
Each year, the pageant elevates young Black women by holding a competition comprising three categories:
Little Miss Juneteenth: Ages 7-10
Jr. Miss Juneteenth: Ages 11-14
Miss Juneteenth USA: Ages 15-18
Winners get more than just a crown: there’s also a cash scholarship award and sponsorships up for grabs. For Juneteenth 2025, the pageant will take place in the historically significant Galveston, Texas, where you can show your support by attending!
If you can’t be there, you can always make your Juneteenth donation on the organization’s website, knowing that it will benefit a young Black woman and help secure her future. The nonprofit is also actively seeking volunteers, in case you’d like to give your time instead of money this Juneteenth.
3. Black History Bike Ride
Mission: To tell the story of Black history in Austin, TX, and around America – while getting you off the couch.
Black History Bike Ride turns a simple bike ride into a moving history lesson. Based in Austin, the organization highlights overlooked stories from Black history while bringing people together to explore, learn new things, and connect with their community.
It all began in 2020, when Austin resident Talib Abdullahi wanted to create a space for learning and healing after protests against racial injustice. What started as a small bike ride among friends grew into a thriving community event, with hundreds of cyclists coming together to explore significant sites and stories that aren’t always included in history textbooks.
While it’s not clear yet if Black History Ride is doing anything special for this Juneteenth, the organization has been raising money for their short film, The Route to Emancipation which aired at the end of May! Watch it here.
Mission: To ensure that Black girls believe they belong in tech and launch them with the skills, opportunities, and resources to lead.
Did you know that only 2% of tech jobs are held by Black women? If that doesn’t sit well with you, then Black Girls Code (BGC) is a deserving recipient of your Juneteenth donation. BGC partners with schools, businesses, and local organizations to create virtual and in-person learning opportunities for girls and young women.
Some of the exciting courses offered involve learning how to:
Build an AI compliment bot
Create an arcade game
Make a professional Wix website
Understand Python concepts
But BGC goes beyond regular classes – their summer camps give girls the chance to deep dive into coding, robotics, AI, and even cybersecurity. Aside from learning new skills, these camps are about building confidence and a sense of belonging in an industry where Black women have been historically underrepresented.
If you’re looking to make a Juneteenth donation that directly invests in the next generation of Black innovators, donate to this organization!
5. (NAACP) National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
Mission: To dismantle racism and disrupt inequality to create a society where all people can truly be free.
When it comes to fighting for Black freedom and equality, few organizations have a longer track record than the NAACP, which was founded way back in 1909. The NAACP has been at the frontlines of the civil rights movement for over a century – challenging segregation, fighting for voting rights, and pushing back against racial discrimination.
You’re probably familiar with some of the NAACP’s major victories, like the landmark Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court case that ended school segregation. Today, they’re still actively fighting voter suppression, working on police accountability, and creating programs that support Black youth.
So, if you want to support their work this Juneteenth, you’ve got options:
Your support helps keep the NAACP’s important mission alive.
6. Thurgood Marshall College Fund
Mission: To give HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) students an equal chance.
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund turns donations into educational opportunities, and if you’re still wondering where to donate for Juneteenth, this organization is a fantastic option! Named after the first Black Supreme Court Justice, the fund supports students attending HBCUs through scholarships, internships, leadership development, and career prep.
Since 1987, they’ve awarded over $300 million to help students not only attend college but thrive once they’re there. As you can imagine, the organization has made incredible strides in opening doors that systematic barriers have long tried to close.
If you want your Juneteenth donation to empower the next generation of Black leaders, this is it! You can give, attend events, or partner with the fund to support even more students.
More Ways to Support on Juneteenth
Not everyone has extra money to donate, but there are plenty of other ways you can give on Juneteenth 2025.
Volunteer with Black-led nonprofits
Monetary donations are great, but your time is valuable too! Many Black-led organizations need volunteers to help with events, mentoring, tutoring, admin – you name it. If you’ve got a specific skill or just a few spare hours, you can make a genuine difference on Juneteenth without ever opening your wallet.
Start a peer-to-peer campaign on behalf of a cause
Want to spread the word even more? Try launching your own fundraiser and get your family and friends involved.
Pro tip: Tools like Donorbox Peer-to-Peer make it easy to set up a campaign and grow support for your chosen Black-led nonprofit this Juneteenth.
If your charity of choice uses Donorbox, like the first four NPOs on this list, you can reach out to them and ask for permission to fundraise on their behalf (if they don’t already have that option on their donation form).
For some inspiration, have a look at how this supporter is raising funds for Black Girls Code:
Juneteenth is a chance to celebrate and give, but it’s also a chance to learn. Take time to read relevant books, watch educational movies/documentaries, or join a local tour that digs deeper into Black history and racial justice. The more you know, the more you can share with those around you.

Give blood
I’ll go out on a limb here and guess that donating blood probably isn’t the first thing you think of for Juneteenth, but it’s a compassionate and impactful way to help.
For some conditions that disproportionately affect Black people, like sickle cell disease, patients need blood from donors with closely matched backgrounds. This makes having a diverse group of donors really important.
While everyone is encouraged to give, blood donations from Black donors are especially vital. So, if you’re able to, rolling up your sleeve could literally save lives!
Why Giving on Juneteenth Matters
At its core, Juneteenth is about freedom. But freedom isn’t just about the past. It’s about guaranteeing everyone has real opportunities today. And as you know, a lot of the inequalities Juneteenth reminds us of are still around:
Gaps in education
Healthcare
Wealth
And more!
That’s where giving comes in. Supporting Black-led nonprofits and causes helps push things forward and creates real change in people’s lives. It’s a big way to honor what Juneteenth stands for: not just remembering history, but actively making a better future.
Over to You
Juneteenth donations are an invaluable way to turn reflection into action. They help close gaps, create opportunities, and support Black communities year-round. While a lot of progress has been made, there’s still work to be done.
