2025 has been a year of challenge after challenge, and I know many of us were feeling burnt out long before Giving Season rolled around. But if you showed up on Giving Tuesday with a campaign and a strong message, you showed fortitude – and globally, donors showed support.
Here’s a quick wrap-up of Giving Tuesday 2025 and some next steps to keep the momentum going, reflect, and start building relationships with new donors.
2025 Giving Tuesday Results
Globally, nonprofits raised $4 billion, an increase of 13% from 2024.
38.1 million people in the U.S. participated, 19.1 million of whom made financial contributions. 11.1 million people volunteered, an increase of a whopping 20% from 2024.
We saw some impressive movement for organizations using Donorbox, too. The total number of donations increased by almost 9% this year – meaning more gifts and more connections with donors!
More organizations used Donorbox Crowdfunding and Peer-to-Peer to get their message across, with a combined increase in donations of 10% over last year. And our QuickDonate™ feature, which allows donors to repeat any gift in just one click, saw an incredible 80% increase in donation value when compared to last year!
What this means for you
Generosity is still just as important to donors – and many donors are stepping up even more to support causes they care about during uncertain times.
If you saw a good share of that generosity on Giving Tuesday, congratulations!
If you didn’t, don’t beat yourself up. Now is the time to assess your campaign to see what worked and what could have gone better.
Part of your assessment should be whether your return on investment (ROI) was worth it and whether you should try something new next year or put your efforts and money into a different campaign.

Remember, Giving Tuesday may not be a huge success for every organization. Your donors may not be interested in a giving day, or your mission might not move donors to give on a day crowded with messaging. That’s okay!
Standout Campaigns
We’ve seen some great success stories. Here are three campaigns that stood out to us:
1. Zorya Foundation
Zorya Foundation surpassed their goal by over $40,000, allowing them to fund childcare grants for women working in healthcare.
Total raised: $89,913
Tools leveraged: A pop-up donation form to keep their donation page sleek and a donor wall to boost social proof. Plus, easy social sharing buttons made their campaign instantly shareable.
2.Pets Bring Joy
Pets Bring Joy illustrated the impact of each donation level, bringing in 121 donations to change the lives of the animals they support.
Total raised: $19,450
Tools leveraged: One-click giving with UltraSwift™ Pay and Donorbox OmniGive™. Plus, they customized their form to showcase impact, driving donations.
3. Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley (HFSV)
The HFSV exceeded their $15,000 Giving Tuesday goal in just 26 donations! They’ll use these funds to distribute much needed microgrants to Latine technology students.
Total raised: $15,541.65
Tools leveraged: A donor wall to build trust and encourage more generosity, plus easy social sharing buttons.
Next Steps
The big day has come and gone – now what?
Here are your next steps:
1. Celebrate your hard work
Don’t forget to take time to celebrate what you’ve accomplished.
You got out there and shared your mission. You brought in funds that will change lives. And you gained more visibility not only for your organization, but for the people, animals, or places you serve.
Well done.
2. Steward new donors
Gratitude is key after Giving Tuesday. Share how each donation will have real, tangible impact.
Now is also a great time to learn more about your new donors. Send a survey to understand their communication preferences, interests, and background. Use their responses to build better relationships.
If you steward your donors well and show that you care, they’ll be more interested in supporting your organization again before the end of the year.
3. Keep the momentum going
Now is not the time to go quiet. Don’t overwhelm your audience, but keep up a steady rhythm of outreach for your year-end campaign.
