Thousands of young people will descend on Rome this summer for the canonization of Pier Giorgio Frassati + the Jubilee year!
This is a MASSIVE moment for the church and an opportunity for evangelization for those young people visiting the Eternal City.
However, we have seen it before: large crowds, so much to see and do, and with so much business, you get lost in it all and never get a real opportunity to draw close to Jesus.
Springing from our hugely successful site at the last World Youth Day in Lisbon, Portugal, the JP2 Project is bringing back an incredible team of our alumni to run an evangelization week in Rome this summer!
These passionate and well-formed young adults will be on the streets of Rome, serving as missionaries to organize, invite and minister to thousands of pilgrims through facilitating adoration, sacraments, talks, fellowship activities, encounters with religious communities, and service to the poor!
Sponsoring a JP2 Project missionary for this free week-long event is helping make the Youth Jubilee in Rome a powerful encounter with Our Lord and a deepening of faith for thousands of pilgrims (and tourists!) of our universal Church.
Thanks to our partnership with the Truth & Beauty Project, we’ll be hosting our events at the International Youth Center and Church of San Lorenzo, located next door to St. Peter’s Basilica, and home to the original WYD cross that John Paul II entrusted to young people on Palm Sunday of 1984!
