You can help us build Little Trees Nurtury in Mannar!
A Preschool for Mannar, Northern Sri Lanka
Little Leaders Foundation, Bridging Lanka and Hüsk have united their forces to build a preschool,
Little Trees Nurtury, in Mannar, Sri Lanka. The preschool will nurture a fresh approach to early childhood education with the love of learning, deep environmental connection and care for their community. The school will also function as a leading pillar of society that Mannar so desperately needs.
#LittleTreesForFutureLeaders
The project will go beyond providing education. It encompasses training people in the local community to become teachers and create new job opportunities. Furthermore, we will offer educational programs and pedagogic parent counselling on Mannar Island. Little Trees Nurtury will be utilised as a centre for the local community to come together and improve their society. This is an end-to-end project from the grassroots. We are planting the seeds, and through a reunited community, Little Trees will grow.“Little Trees will be a haven in nature where children can express themselves for the first time,
learn to care for each other, learn about nature, about animals, and feed their curiosity.”
- Chavez Selvaratnam, Founder of Hüsk
Contribute to Little Trees Nurtury
The joint goal of the three organizations is to raise €144,000 for the construction and
first-year operation of the preschool. Little Leaders Foundation is raising €10,000 to
contribute to the main objective. For the following years, we have created a forward budget to cover annual costs. To realize this, we need your help! Donate now and have a lifelong impact on the children of Mannar! 100% of your donation will go towards the building construction and first-year operation of the preschool.

A preschool offers change
Mannar Island lacks good infrastructure, clean water, employment and education. Mannar's children are exposed to the constraints of their environment from a very early age and have limited prospects due to a lack of resources.
For Mannar, quality education can bring progressive change and connectivity to a fragmented community. Early childhood education is fundamental for a child’s development and future. It is the first time children learn about themselves, the world around them and how to make social contacts outside of their family.

Holistic education at Little Trees Nurtury
Holistic education is an approach that cares for a child's emotional, social, ethical, spiritual, and intellectual needs. Children are taught how their actions affect themselves, the local and global community, and how they can learn from the people and nature around them. Holistic education is about encouraging a child to be mindful, think critically, and be compassionate from the very start of their lives. At Little Trees Nurtury, the children will have a unique learning experience surrounded by nature and animals, including Mannar’s donkeys. The children will connect with the donkeys at Bridging Lanka’s Donkey Clinic and Rescue Centre, just a stone’s throw away from the preschool.
