In early 2025, we committed to doing everything possible to help “Tia” and her family in Warm Springs, Virginia, as they opened their hearts and home to adopt twin 6-year-old orphans. Thanks to incredible community support, we have nearly reached our initial $60,000 goal and construction is already underway. Building plans are approved, generous suppliers have begun donating materials, and a respected construction company has stepped forward to help bring this project to life.
But we’re not there yet.
We still have a $40,000 funding gap to finish the work and we urgently need your help to cross the finish line.
Why This Matters
In late September 2024, a veteran near Roanoke, Virginia, tragically took his own life and the life of his girlfriend (and another man), leaving behind their two young children. These children, now under Tia’s (their aunt) care, are living in cramped, unsafe conditions. Together, the Central Virginia Community Organized Volunteer Group of Purple Heart Homes and the Lynchburg Area Veterans Council (LAVC) are determined to give them more than just shelter - we’re giving them a safe place to heal.
This project will:
Expand livable space so the children have a stable home with room to grow.
Repair urgent plumbing and heating issues to ensure safety and comfort.
Give the family long-term stability as they rebuild their lives.
Your Gift Changes Everything. Together, we can close the gap. Together, we can give them hope.
Every dollar brings us closer to a home where Tia and her new children can laugh, learn, and heal from unimaginable loss.
