Imagine the enchanting melody of the Northern white-cheeked gibbon echoing through the lush forests of Vietnam, a sound that has been heavily silenced by the destructive forces of habitat loss and poaching. But we have a chance to bring back this song and ensure the survival of this critically endangered species in the wild! And we need your help to make this happen!


Our organization, Three Monkeys Wildlife Conservancy, is embarking on an ambitious mission to reintroduce the Northern white-cheeked gibbon to its natural habitat in the UNESCO World Heritage Trang An Landscape Complex.  The area has the highest protective status in the country, providing excellent reintroduction opportunities, as shown by the succesful previous reintroduction work by our organization of the Delacour's langur in Trang An.


Our gibbon reintroduction project will implement a long-term soft release strategy by pairing a gibbon couple with suitable traits. We will closely observe the progress and check the health of the gibbons as they are trained to return to their cages for feeding. To track their movement, we will utilize drone tracking technology, which has proven in our previous survey projects to be highly effective. These monitoring approaches will help us to closely follow up their integration in their new environment.


Your support through donation will allow kickstarting the initial stage of our gibbon reintroduction program. We'll evaluate the health, genetics, and behavior of the captive Northern white-cheeked gibbons in Vietnamese zoos and rescue centers to determine their suitability for breeding and reintroduction into the wild. With your contribution, we'll also conduct an in-depth habitat assessment of the site of release in accordance with  IUCN Best practice guidelines for the rehabilitation and translocation of gibbons.


We believe that planning for future stages of the project and securing funding for additional initial activities are also crucial, as they allow us to develop the necessary partnerships to ensure the project's success. By organizing workshops and collaborating with stakeholders, we can start to raise awareness of the conservation goals we have set. Additionally, designing a suitable soft release cage and creating educational materials will help us better prepare for the full implementation of our reintroduction program.


By supporting our project, you'll be making a direct impact on the survival of the Northern white-cheeked gibbon and contributing to the in-situ conservation of these precious animals, but also relieve crowded rescue centers, improve animal welfare conditions and disseminate conservation measures to the public. And if you're an organization, such as a zoo, your donation will be credited as a supporter of the program, with regular updates on the project's progress.
