Thinking about switching to or from Pushpay? Hearing how other nonprofits have experienced the platform can really help you make the best decision for your organization.

Below, I’ve pulled together some of the top reviews to help guide your choice.

Key takeaways from Pushpay reviews: Pushpay makes giving easy through a variety of tools, and users appreciate its simple setup and reporting features. However, users raise concerns about high fees and long-term contracts, and many report challenges receiving report and integrating with existing systems.

Pushpay Pros

Let’s explore some real Pushpay experiences shared by nonprofits like yours.

1. Convenient ways to give

Pushpay users love how convenient it is for supporters, especially with tools like the mobile app and text-to-give.

It’s very user-friendly on the app side for givers. – Sharon P.

Pushpay makes it easy for our congregation to donate. The ability to use a qr code or text to give really helps. – Fred P.

2. Easy to set up

Switching to a new system can feel overwhelming, but many Pushpay reviews note how simple it is to get set up and transition from a previous platform.

The ease of implementation, set up and use is what I like most. I am not from the tech generation and to my surprise, with a coach, I have been able to navigate through the implementations process without too much difficulty. – Troyann W.

They walked me through importing data from my old software so that I have complete data in Pushpay. – Becky K.

3. Easy reporting

Reviewers appreciate Pushpay’s strong reporting features, saving them time on manual tasks.

My administrative team is able to give me up-to-date reports concerning giving and receipts quickly. We have one place, rather than multiple sources, for our financial reports. – Rick S.

The daily reports I receive on giving are easy to work with. – Robin D.

Pushpay Cons

1. Added fees

Many reviewers aren’t happy with the additional fees Pushpay adds on top of its monthly subscription.

They mislead donors by thinking they are paying the fee for the church but in reality they are just giving more which Pushpay takes their percentage off the total and still bills the church the full amount plus the extra. – Naomi M.

My biggest gripe with Pushpay are the fees. While it’s understandable that that they are a business who needs to make money, many churches have found it a hardship to pay their base fee as well as the percentage they take for the transition. – Maizy F.

2. Only offers long-term contracts

Although you can choose a monthly payment option, Pushpay still requires you to commit to an annual contract, with terms ranging from one to three years.

For some users, that level of commitment feels limiting, especially if circumstances change.

If you decide to cancel early, you’re responsible for paying the remaining balance, and some customers find it hard to get out of their contract altogether.

Upon leaving Pushpay they threw at us that we signed a 2 year contract. We were under the impression we were under a 6 month free trial. – Jeff C.

The long-term contracts are restrictive and don’t offer the flexibility needed if your circumstances change or if you’re dissatisfied with the service. – Verified User in Public Safety

While attempting to contact customer services we discovered that we were in a two year contract that could not be canceled. – Diana P.

3. Difficult to integrate with other systems

Some reviews mention that integrating Pushpay with other systems can be challenging.

I dislike that it doesn’t integrate with Planner, which we use to coordinate all of our church teams. – Verified Reviewer

We are currently using F1 as a church and we have integrated F1 with PushPay, this can sometimes cause a headache. – Verified Reviewer

Pricing

Pushpay has a 3.6 out of 5 rating for “Value for Money” on Capterra, which tells you right away that users have mixed feelings about the cost.

While their pricing isn’t publicly listed, many reviewers say it adds up quickly. Beyond the base subscription, the processing fees and additional charges often leave nonprofits feeling like they’re not getting enough value for what they’re paying.

Processing charges and fees are the highest in the arena… – Joshua S.

COST! too expensive to have that software plus fees they charge… – Richard R.

Features

Pushpay’s features are rated 4.1 out of 5 on Capterra.

Here are their top features:

  • Donor tracking and management, including giving history and contact details
  • Recurring gift management and tracking
  • Personalized support and coaching
  • Stock and cryptocurrency giving options
  • Campaign pledging tools
  • Financial reporting and analytics
  • MyChurch Giving app

While Pushpay does offer a solid set of tools, some users feel the overall value doesn’t always match the price.

It is just in no way worth the cost! And the idea of being locked into annual contracts with so many services not requiring that is insane. – Anthony M.

Customer Support

Pushapy has a 3.8 out of 5 rating for customer support on Capterra.

Pushpay offers online support during business hours, with additional weekend and holiday support for urgent requests. However, many reviewers find it hard to get in touch with Pushpay.

The customer support. There no phone number to reach anyone and you have to do it all electronically, which normally I don’t mind, but when it takes 48 hours to get an answer, that’s a problem. – Sharon P.

Over the last three to four weeks I have repeatedly attempted to communicate with customer service and have received several times an almost identical email in reply. – Diana P.
