A new day for New Wine is dawning

New Wine, New Wineskins has a bright future because of its rich past. New Wine is grateful to all who have contributed to the New Wine program at Multnomah University and its outreach to local and global communities. New Wine has produced a wide variety of resources over the years that have touched many people in profound ways. Hundreds of these resources are freely available to the public at the organization’s YouTube channel.

The Institute for Cultural Engagement: New Wine, New Wineskins began at Multnomah University in 2000 and became an official program of the university a few years later. In 2019, The Institute for Cultural Engagement became a nonprofit, while still remaining an official program of the university.

The Institute is now fully responsible for carrying out the mission and vision of New Wine, as Multnomah University recently transferred ownership of all New Wine related assets to the 501(c)(3).

Over the course of two decades, many people have helped build and solidify New Wine as a platform that builds bridges to connect the disconnected. New Wine helps close relational gaps between those holding differing beliefs, opinions, priorities, political persuasions, and more. In the face of increasing cultural divisions, this is primarily accomplished through consultation and a variety of educational tools offered by New Wine. The organization’s areas of expertise include domains such as equity and diversity, religious pluralism, mental health, and faith and science.

New Wine’s mission is focused on transforming the church’s conflicts, both within the church and with the surrounding culture, into opportunities for unity through the Triune God’s grace and truth. A key aim is to help equip generations of Jesus’ followers to extinguish hate, intolerance, and misunderstanding and maximize grace and truth for human flourishing in our world today. New Wine provides education and consultation fueled by a desire for personal and community transformation. A top educational tool is the Institute’s peer-reviewed academic journal, Cultural Encounters—A Journal for the Theology of Culture.

A matching gift opportunity continues to help build bridges with New Wine. We are looking to match gifts up to another $4,500, bringing our total raised for the year to $25,000!
