In memory of Bo, my soul dog. He came to me at 12, all four pounds of him, and stayed until 18, my companion through some of the biggest changes of my life. Whenever I came home from a trip, he made a beeline for me. I was his and he was mine. Dogs let us be our true selves and love fully. When they leave, we're left with an expanded reservoir of love and no one to give it to. I think that's part of grief. When the time and the match are right, I hope to give it to one of your senior dogs. That's the gift Bo left, for me and for the dog who comes next.
