A week ago, our top organizer (and new Campaign Director for our Colorado chapter) Justin Clark hosted a Comedy Fundraiser that brought in $5,273 (which will be doubled to $10,543 because of the match!). We had thirty people in a room together bidding on ridiculous items (odd duck-shaped items from Goodwill, my old Ukulele, stickers from our 2024 campaign, a photo of Justin, etc.). It was hilarious and inspiring, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who decided to pitch in!
That was a HUGE win, but we still have quite a ways to go in order to meet our goal of raising $50,000 by July 31st (4 days from today.) If everyone who reads this message donates $100, I think we might have a chance of meeting our goal.
We simply can't afford to leave this much free money on the table, and that why I'm asking you to give generously now! I'm so excited to see these campaigns win, we're already making tons of progress but need to secure the funding to keep it going.
Incredible news... thanks to you, we're 42% of the way to our fundraising goal!
Here's what's at stake: We only have 3 weeks to raise another $28,600 to unlock the FULL $50,000 matching grant from the Phauna Foundation (deadline is July 31st).
The momentum is building—let's finish strong!
Every $1 you give becomes $2 toward ending foie gras in Denver, DC, and Portland!
We just kicked off signature gathering for our ballot initiative to ban foie gras in Denver last weekend and are working really hard to recruit new activists.
With additional funding, we can rent cool venues and host concerts, parties, etc. in Denver and run digital ads to recruit more petitioners. We need to 10x our volunteers in order to qualify this initiative for the ballot.
Please consider telling a friend or family member about our fundraiser and share https://proanimal.org/donate on social media to spread the word!
Wow. I'm deeply moved by the generosity of our members and the pro-animal community.
Thanks to 18 donations coming in over the past week, we’ve already raised $19,214 of our $50,000 goal, with every dollar being matched! That means we’re nearly 40% of the way there. I'm hugely appreciative of everyone who has pitched in so far (including our amazing monthly supporters whose donations are also being automatically matched without any additional action on your end!).
Here's a few campaign updates on our progress so far:
Pro-Animal DC: The campaign launch party in Washington D.C. was a hit. Over fifty people showed up, and we raised $556 (doubled to $1,112) to fund the campaign. Huge thanks to everyone who made it such a strong kickoff!
Pro-Animal Oregon: We just finished onboarding our new campaign director, Sam Schillinger, who is gearing up to lead our foie gras lobbying campaign in Portland, Oregon. We are over the moon to have him on the team and very excited to kick off our campaign in Portland soon.
Pro-Animal Colorado: Our proposed ballot initiative to ban force-feeding and the sale of force-fed foie gras is now under review by the Denver Elections Division. As soon as they finalize the ballot title, we’ll be cleared to begin collecting signatures, as soon as the weekend of June 28.
Every dollar we raise now ensures we’re fully staffed, equipped, and ready to launch our signature drive the moment we get the green light!
I'm so ecstatic that in the first ~12 days of the campaign, we've come together and reached 15% of our fundraising goal! That's huge. To be honest, we sold a lot more merch at the Denver Campaign Launch Party than I expected (!) and several individuals (you know who you are!) made generous contributions because they really believe that we can win this. The best part is that all of those donations will go twice as far towards getting these campaigns off the ground!
Plus, if you need your donation to be tax-deductible, I just got confirmation that donations to Pax Fauna (Pro-Animal Future's sister organization, a 501c3) will also be included in the match. We can also accept checks, just shoot an email to aidan@proanimal.org. I'll be periodically adding all donations made to Pax Fauna so they're included in the total amount you see on this page.
