Thank you. Seriously.
A month ago we sent out a call for help, and you answered. Because of that, we showed up with food, supplies, and people. Because of you, we weren't out there alone.
One month later, here's what we've done with what you gave us:
We went from a team of 4 to 20 people on the ground. We built an emergency kitchen from scratch and distributed more than 31,500 meals in a month, covering the gaps left by the Red Cross and Luna Blanca, who don't go beyond a couple of fixed distribution points. We reach the forests, the beaches, and the hidden corners of the city that no one else does.
We've handed out clothing, footwear, and blankets — so much of it, every single day. We've treated wounds: trauma, baton blows, infected wounds, scabies, illnesses caused by poor hygiene conditions and weakened immune systems from lack of food.
We've registered more than 200 people and reported this to the Minors' Protection Area and the Public Prosecutor's Office, so it can never be denied that these people are here, that they exist, and that they need protection. We've provided legal support to dozens of people trying to access international protection systems. And we've documented the abuse: more than 150 testimonies of uniformed violence collected.
Everything raised in August has already been spent — on food, on a warehouse, on transport for aid arriving from mainland Spain, on another car, on lawyers, on electricity, fuel, insurance, phone-charging points... the list keeps growing.
The cameras are already leaving. The spotlights are dimming. But the crisis in Ceuta isn't. And neither are we.
That's why we're launching our second campaign, for September. If you can lend a hand again, here's the link: https://donorbox.org/emergency-ceuta
It doesn't have to be much. It all adds up. And together we can make the coming weeks a little less painful, more supported, more human.
Thank you for not letting go, we keep going.
