Support the Connections Grief Center
Grief can feel overwhelming and isolating, especially for children and teens who may not have the words or tools to express what they are experiencing. The Connections Grief Center (CGC) at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley ensures that young people and families navigating loss have a place where they are seen, supported, and not alone.
Formerly known as the Center for Grieving Children, the Connections Grief Center’s new name reflects its focus on connection, healing, and community while continuing more than 20 years of compassionate support for youth and families. Learn more about the name change and what it represents here.
At the CGC, children, teens, and families find safe, compassionate spaces where grief is honored and feelings are validated. Through peer support groups, education, and community collaboration, young people are able to share their experiences, connect with others who understand, and begin to heal. By normalizing grief and strengthening coping skills, the program helps youth move from isolation toward resilience, understanding, and hope.
Your support through the Circle of Strength crowdfund helps the Connections Grief Center:
- Provide safe peer support groups for children, teens, and families navigating death and non-death loss
- Help young people build healthy coping skills and process grief in supportive, structured environments
- Create connections that remind youth and families they are not alone in their grief journey
Why the Connections Grief Center matters:
“We came because my children needed safe, structured time and space to look at their grief instead of ignoring it. We definitely are receiving that! What I didn't expect is that my children would LOVE TO COME! I thought I'd be dragging them there. Instead they look forward to it! That says a lot for a teen boy and preteen boy. I've shared how wonderful it's been with another family from our church because I'm not sure that people thinking of grief support would think of how amazing this is.”
