Progressions

Hello everyone!

I know it's been quite some time since I've posted anything on my socials; I've been taking some personal time to deal with family & health issues. Speaking of health issues, the other day I had a telehealth appointment with my oncologist where she told me I have a lesion on my left hip that if not dealt with soon, could lead to a fracture. This helped explain why I've been dealing with extreme pain in that area for the past month.  Regrettably, she also told me that the cancer has continued to spread, and I now have cancerous spots on my liver. This news was obviously not what I was hoping to hear and really hit hard emotionally.

The plan of attack is to stop the current chemotherapy medications I've been taking and start a new medication along with an infusion that I'll have to go get every 3 weeks. I'll be learning more info about this regimen on the 28th. I've mainly been feeling very defeated and confused.

I'm confused as to why my cancer has progressed and why it was happening to me, but I know in the end I just gotta keep on truckin.

I wanna thank everyone that has stuck by my side and took the time and energy to check up on me. This news has also made me realize that I need to start going out again, whether that be spending more time with myself, or spending more time with you guys. So if you guys have some extra time and wanna go on an adventure feel free to hit me up!  Also just keeping me in any thoughts and prayers means a lot.

Much love and appreciation for everyone and thanks for reading ❤ I also will have more updates regarding whether I will be getting neck/spine surgery on top of everything else at the end of this month haha (yikes) okie bye ❤.

Winter Wonderland

Wishing everyone a happy and memorable holiday season, however you celebrate it, and if you're also in the PNW, I hope you are staying safe with this wacky weather.

As an update, Caoilfhionn's condition has progressed, but not excessively so.  Her oncologist is trying to get her into a few clinical trials, but the new lesions aren't big enough to qualify for the trial.  Mixed blessing I guess.

She has finished her first series of chemotherapy infusions, and I couldn't be more proud of how she handled going through all of that.  Towards the end, she decided it would make it easier to have a port installed, but the moment she got that procedure done, they stopped her infusions.

Overall, trying to help with her quality of life is the paramount concern.  With her pain levels and mobility challenges, it's hard to try and plan for her to do all the things she wants to do.

Huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far, or lent time to come help the construction of her tiny house.  We've hit an impasse with materials, so there hasn't been much progress lately on that, but we're hoping some incoming resources can get that ball rolling again.. as soon as the weather cooperates.

Positives and Progressions

Hello one and all, there have been some big changes with Caoilfhionn's care in the last month, so I am updating this page accordingly.

Caoilfhionn has started receiving physical therapy weekly, and is starting weekly acupuncture appointments at the Seattle Cancer Center.  Good things on the horizon there, and she's very hopeful that they provide some relief to the constant pain she is experiencing.

In addition to those, she has been referred to an organization south of Seattle who are the experts on utilizing non opiate medications to help manage her pain as well.  Really excited to see what comes of talking more with them.

Regarding the cancer itself, her doctors have decided it is time to change things up with what type of treatment she is receiving.  Instead of a daily pill, she will be receiving weekly chemotherapy infusions down in Seattle for the next few months.   While most of the side effects associated with this are one's shared by her existing medication, this new regimen is expected to impact her hair.

This means that hats, wigs, or other types of adornments will be needed in the near future.  Not to mention that with all of these additional appointments, the costs for gas, food, and potentially lodging will ramping up.

A huge thanks to everyone who has already contributed their time and money to assisting Caoilfhionn on this journey.   If you can continue to contribute, whether directly, or through sharing this campaign, any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you all.
