Caoilfhionn has suffered from a variety of medical issues for years, and recently finally received an answer as to the cause. At the age of 24, she received the gutting diagnosis that she has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Given the advanced progression of the disease, her medical treatments are primarily focused on extending and increasing her quality of life, as there is currently no known cure for this disease. Despite the devastation this news brought, especially for how rare it is for one so young to receive this diagnosis, she is determined to live what life she has left to the absolute fullest.
She is receiving treatment though cancer centers in both Seattle and Bellingham so that she has the best chances possible, using their combined resources and expertise, along with her incredible stubbornness, to continue to fight the cancer. With the level of pain that she is constantly in, as well as the time needed to attend all of the appointments her treatment requires, her ability to work is severely limited. Her doctors regularly share their amazement that she still pushes through with work at all.
To be closer to family, as well as to reduce living expenses while maintaining independence, she is building a modest tiny home at her dad's place. Currently, she is sharing the family car as transportation, but is also looking to finance her own vehicle to greater increase her independence and allow her the freedom to enjoy her life at her own pace.
All funds raised will go to help with any medical expenses that aren't covered by insurance, travel and other expenses required for making her appointments, costs for the construction of her tiny home, the financing of a vehicle, and other support in absence of her normal income.
