For many families in Idyllwild and the surrounding mountain communities, even a routine veterinary appointment means driving an hour or more off the mountain. Wellness exams, vaccinations, and spay and neuter surgeries often require an all-day trip, making regular veterinary care difficult to access.
Living Free Animal Sanctuary is working to change that.
We already have a space on our campus dedicated to the future clinic. Now, we need your help to transform it into a modern, affordable veterinary facility that will serve mountain pets and the families who love them.
The first phase of the renovation project will cost approximately $200,000 and will include improvements to create safe exam and treatment spaces, install veterinary equipment, and prepare the clinic to welcome its first patients.
Our goal is to open in phases. Phase 1 will focus on accessible, essential veterinary care, including wellness exams, routine checkups, core vaccinations, simple medical problems, end of life services, and preventative services. As the clinic grows, Phase 2 will expand our services to include spays and neuters, other surgeries, dental cleanings, diagnostics such as radiographs and blood work, and full, ongoing veterinary care.
For more than 45 years, Living Free has been dedicated to giving animals a second chance. This clinic is the next chapter in that mission, helping pets stay healthy, reducing shelter intake through preventative care, and making veterinary services more accessible for our mountain communities.
