The Story That Started It All

On December 11, 1995, a 9-year-old girl was kidnapped on her way home from school. In a race against time, police used our technology, for the very first time, to rapidly broadcast her photo to the media. The pressure on her abductors was immediate, and thanks to that swift action, she was released safely that same night.

A Legacy Of Protection

For three decades since, Critical Reach has served law enforcement through our APBnet software. We have sent millions of alerts to find missing persons, connect and solve crimes, and keep officers safe. We have proven that when communities and police are connected by the right technology, lives are saved.

But Today, The Threat Has Changed

Gun violence has become this generation's defining safety issue. We see too many news headlines about school tragedies followed by too little progress—just the familiar refrain that “something must be done,” followed only by thoughts and prayers.

Protecting Community Spaces: Extending the safety network through a single, unified system that protects communities wherever they gather.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a unique approach: connected systems save lives.

Currently, school safety is disconnected because it relies on expensive vendor contracts that many schools can't afford. As a nonprofit, we eliminate cost barriers to protect everyone, not just those who can afford it.

We intentionally keep our costs low for law enforcement and offer our school platforms at no cost. However, launching this next generation of technology nationwide requires significant investment. We turn to philanthropic support—to you—to bridge this gap.
