Join the 2026 X-Out Blood Cancer Campaign
Since 2016, the RUNX1 Research Program (RRP) has awarded more than $16 million in independent and co-funded research grants, bringing together scientists worldwide to study how inherited RUNX1 mutations lead to leukemia and to identify strategies that may help prevent cancer development.
Because rare disease research often receives limited traditional funding, community support plays an essential role in helping scientists continue this work.
Today, researchers are pursuing multiple approaches to better understand and address RUNX1-FPD, including:
Understanding Inflammation: Studying how inflammation in the body may increase leukemia risk in RUNX1-FPD.
Restoring RUNX1 Activity: Exploring ways to boost RUNX1 function to support healthy blood development.
Advancing Cell Therapy Strategies: Developing methods to collect and preserve patients’ blood stem cells for potential future gene-editing approaches.
Identifying High-Risk Clones Early: Studying the earliest cellular changes that occur before leukemia develops.
Building Essential Research Tools: Creating shared samples, datasets, and laboratory resources that accelerate RUNX1 research.
Our goal this year is to raise $30,000 to support the next wave of RUNX1 research. You can help by making a donation or by starting your own fundraiser and inviting others to support this effort.
Together, we can accelerate research and continue working to X-Out Blood Cancer.
