The mission of Zora's Cradle is to address the gaps in maternity health services that discriminate against individuals from lower socio-economic demographics in Kentucky and result in higher maternal and child mortality rates, by providing access to financial and health supports pre- and post-pregnancy. Our agency philosophy is “Helping Mothers To Restore, Redeem, and Thrive”. We currently provide a plethora of services such as parenting classes, behavioral therapy, case management, and independent living skills to homeless, expectant mothers.
We also offer outpatient behavioral health services and classes (individual and group) to children, teens, and adults of all backgrounds. We operate a Milk Depot https://www.themilkbank.org/milk-depot that promotes community health by expanding the safe use of human milk for all babies, especially premature and ill infants. The Milk Depot is located within our Perinatal Resource Center, which offers free supplies (i.e. diapers, cribs, breast pumps, infant clothing) to families in need.
