Get ready to sing on Friday, January 15, from 7-8:30pm!
Chester Upland Youth Soccer, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides
free soccer training, mentorship and nutrition education to at-risk youth,
is hosting a Zoom singalong party
featuring one of Chester's greatest musicians and DJs, Bryan Parr.
All are welcome to sing, dance and party along with us
as we bring joy to the children of Chester.
Donations of any size will be gratefully accepted.
Why donate?
Young people who participate in athletics are healthier, less likely to be obese and more successful academically, as they are better able to concentrate and behave, and therefore complete high school and attend college.
While only three miles apart, Chester High School has half the number of sports teams of Strath Haven High School, located in a wealthier district.
Chester, PA is a city of approximately 34,000 residents, 70.4% of whom are Black/African American and 34.6% of whom are living below the federal poverty line. Health disparities are pronounced in Chester where the rates of obesity and diabetes are substantially higher than those in Delaware County.
Children in under-served communities like Chester face distinct challenges. They may experience a lack of access to healthy foods, an acute shortage of safe places to play and consistent mentors, and inequity in opportunity to participate in youth sports and to reap all the accompanying benefits.
Chester Upland Youth Soccer typically serves 500 children each year with meaningful support combatting all of these issues. Please help us grow!
Thank you.
