About Youth For Future
Youth For Future (YFF) is a registered non-profit organization (NPOæłäșș) based in Tokyo, dedicated to empowering children in care homes across Japan to discover their passions and develop the skills needed to become independent adults by the age of 18 â the age when most must leave the care home system and begin life on their own.
Through our programs, children are able to come up with their own passion projects, which allow them to explore who they are, gain confidence in their abilities, and find a sense of purpose as they pursue their interestsâall while being introduced to digital literacy, developing life skills, and continuously enhancing their problem-solving skills.Â
Furthermore, we run two overnight camp programs in both spring and summer, where children showcase the passion projects they have been working on during our weekly sessions, while also going on new experiences and trips that allow them to connect with peers from other care homes.
Why Your Monthly Support Matters
In Japan, over 23,000 children live in care homes, and many enter the system due to abuse, neglect, or the loss of a parents.Â
According to the Cabinet Office (ăă©ă柶ćșćș) report:
More than 71% of children in care homes have experienced abuse at least once from their parents and/or guardians.
More than 42% of children in care homes have some form of mental or emotional difficulty.
Most children are forced to leave the care home by age 18 with limited social and financial support.
Many face challenges transitioning to independence â lacking role models, confidence, and access to higher education or stable employment.
Without consistent emotional and educational support, many of these youth struggle to break the cycle of social disadvantage.
What Monthly Donors Make Possible
Your monthly contribution ensures that every child in our partner care homes continues to have:
Access to our spring and summer camps, allowing as many children as possible to join. Your donation helps cover residential, food, activity, and resource costs, ensuring no child is left behind.
Funding for childrenâs passion projects, helping them gain confidence, purpose, and belief in their future.
Support for passion trips, where children go on new experiences, explore their interests, and learn more about the world beyond their care home.
Resources for community initiatives, such as partnership events with local kodomo-shokudos (childrenâs cafeterias), creating a stronger network of care and opportunity.
A small monthly gift creates lasting impact â from one-time workshops to sustained transformation.
