We're setting our first Youth Voices fundraising goal this year, and we need your help.
Through our (Kensington Voice) Youth Voices programs, we encourage creative expression and youth empowerment by working with local youth in Grades 6 through 12 to develop first-person essays, photo stories, poems, and more. Depending on the complexity of each student’s project, we provide them with anywhere from a $75 to $150 VISA gift card as an incentive to participate.
During this fiscal year (July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024), our goal is to publish 50 Youth Voices pieces via our audio podcast, print newspaper, or website. Therefore, our goal is to raise $7,500 to fund – at minimum – the publication of 50 Youth Voices pieces. The money we raise through this fund will go directly to the neighborhood youth who produce creative work for publication.
