United Way is committed to standing with our communities and supporting those impacted by the Whitman County fires. Just in Malden alone, 80 percent of the homes and structures have been destroyed. This emergency fund will help those impacted by this disaster. Although this is a developing situation, funding will be prioritized supporting the families and individuals displaced by the fires. United Way will manage this fund and disbursements with zero administrative fees. We will continue to update the community on how these funds are used.
