Whitman County Fire Community Relief Fund

United Way is committed to standing with our communities and supporting those impacted by the Whitman County fires. Just in Malden alone, 80 percent of the homes and structures have been destroyed. This emergency fund will help those impacted by this disaster. Although this is a developing situation, funding will be prioritized supporting the families and individuals displaced by the fires. United Way will manage this fund and disbursements with zero administrative fees. We will continue to update the community on how these funds are used.

Anyone affected or displaced by these devastating fires is urged to contact the American Red Cross for assistance with lodging, food, and other necessities. The American Red Cross can be reached at 509.670.5331.

“The scale of this disaster really can’t be expressed in words. The fire will be extinguished but a community has been changed for a lifetime.” -Sheriff Myers
