The WakiliPicha Climate Action is a youth-led and impact-driven initiative that focuses on tackling climate change in Kenya and Africa.
We have a project mapped for Kajiado County, Kenya, a semi-arid region with crop farming and livestock rearing as primary economic activities, facing challenges from climate change, particularly drought.
The project is raising awareness of the need for additional adaptation strategies by leveraging the power of photography to document the impacts of climate change and current adaptation and resilience strategies among Kajiado residents. We are also engaging young people at Senior Chief Rissa Secondary School in non-formal and informal education programs to enhance access to information, greening campaigns through tree planting days, and photography training for climate action.
Together, we can create a brighter future for the Children and Youth of Kajiado.
