Virtual Bootblack Jam began as a virtual hangout for a small group of bootblacks who met in January 2020. Two months later, it became one of few spaces bootblacks could gather at all. Though bars have reopened and bootblacks are at the stands once more, Virtual Bootblack Jam continues to be a space folks come to learn more about the art of leather care in the kink community.
Since we began our education series in 2021, we've welcomed bootblacks from around the world to share their skills and knowledge. Topics have included consent, spirituality, disability, working outside the scene, dye techniques, and more. Classes aside, our monthly jam is still a space for folks to just get their shine on (pants optional).
Virtual Bootblack Jam is an independently-run community project. We rely on donations from our Leather communities to continue tipping our bootblacks and making the space as accessible as possible. Please donate to help us keep going and/or share this with your folks!
