In 2019, my husband left the Active Duty Army and set out to start a civilian career. In the transition, he was left to find care on his own and struggled to do so after being denied at the local VA. Without the proper care, he started to decline and our relationship took a toll. We felt hopeless and alone and started drifting apart. I was thinking I may have to prepare to raise our children alone.
With the help of some of his veteran friends, he was able to get the care he needed. It was only after we were through the woods did we realize there were organizations out there that could have helped him. Unfortunately, we didn't know where to look and a simple search online didn't help.
There are no shortage of these stories and I will continue to share them. This is where the idea from Veteran Help Point was born. I have started this nonprofit to build the best database of local resources, across multiple categories nationwide, so that no one will have to needlessly suffer in limbo.
The idea of organizing all these groups is quite simple on the surface, but underneath it is more complex, and with complexity comes expenses.
We will do what it takes to complete this mission and ensure veterans across the country are able to easily find and connect with the help they need. However, in order to do that, we need your support.
