US Vet/New Amputee needs a little help 2 2

So here’s the story of one of the coolest guys I’ve had the pleasure of taking care of and getting to know. This is a former Army Ranger who kneeled on a double stacked mine, and as a result had an above the knee amputation. But let me tell you how this happened. One of his teammates stepped on a mine and could not apply his tourniquet. This absolute hero of a soldier went to help his brother in arms, and had the misfortune of also kneeling on a double stacked mine. He applied his own TQ and both of them made it out alive after crawling to safety. So what’s so special about this soldier? He got to work right away. He started strength training, much to the horror of his nurses, as soon as he was able. Watching him learn to walk again has filled me with so much pride.

Now he’s ready to be released from the hospital and head home next week. He has a one year old, lives on the 2nd floor and thus may need assistive devices, and his car is not reliable to get him to appointments with his doctors, PT/OT, and a prosthetist. In addition, he needs a plane ticket to the states.

Ill be sharing videos and pictures (blurred) so that everyone can see how far he has come and also

keep up with his journey to Independence during his recovery.

As always, every dollar helps. And guys, he’s just adorable. I mean it.
