Hello, my name is Khaled. I am a 40-year-old father of two from Gaza.
Before the war, my greatest source of pride was being able to provide for my family. I worked hard every day to give my wife and children a safe home, food on the table, and hope for a better future. I believed that no matter how difficult life became, I would always find a way to protect the people I love.
Then everything changed.
Our home was completely destroyed, taking with it not only our belongings, but the life we had spent years building together.
For nearly two years, my family of four has been living in a tent. Every day is a struggle to survive. We endure unbearable heat, a shortage of clean water, and constant uncertainty about where our next meal will come from. As parents, the hardest pain is watching your children suffer while feeling powerless to change their reality.
I fought to keep going on my own. Even after losing everything, I refused to ask for help. I searched for any work I could find and accepted occasional temporary jobs just to provide the basics for my family. But for the past year, there has been no work at all. There are simply no opportunities left.
On top of losing our home, I am still burdened with nearly $17,000 in unpaid installments for the house that no longer exists.
Today, I am asking for help because I have reached a point where I cannot carry this burden alone.
I am not asking for luxury or comfort.
I am asking for the chance to work again, to provide for my children with dignity, and to rebuild a future instead of depending on emergency aid.
My dream is simple: to open a small grocery store that will give my family a stable source of income and allow us to stand on our own feet once again.
