Originally established in 2018 as the Uniting to Combat Hunger program, the VFW and our friends at Humana® created Uniting for Veterans to actively address food insecurity across America with an emphasis on the military community. The program expanded in 2024 to include a veteran homelessness component to improve quality of life for America's heroes and their families.
Upton VFW's program accepts food donations and raises money to support the local food pantries of United Parish of Upton, St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, and Upton Community Center. In addition, we will help support veterans and their families through the food pantry and outreach programs of Veterans, Inc. in Worcester, MA.
In support of the campaign, the VFW Foundation offers a Uniting for Veterans grant through which a matching grant of up to $1,500 is available to VFW Posts and Auxiliaries for monetary, food or item donations to local food banks, pantries or homeless relief organizations in their communities.
