Umucyo Art Fundraising Exhibition!
Umucyo Art was founded 4 years ago by (then) 18 year-old Sibomugisha Jean Damascene.
Sited in the Nakivale Refugee Camp in Uganda, Umucyo Art provides a space for creative outlet and self-expression, therapeutic art, and fosters peace and connection amongst youth in the camp. The project supports more than 65 young artists , including a number of artists under the age of 10, who are experiencing profound joy through creativity. Umucyo Art is now raising funds to build a permanent home and exhibition space in Nakivale, catering for all forms of artistic self-expression.
Between 4 - 11 December 2022, Umucyo Art will be running an online exhibition, where you can purchase artworks, commission your own, or simply enjoy what this remarkable community is doing - and donate to make their dream of a permanent home a reality!
