Goal
4 million (and counting) people have been fleeing Ukraine in search of safety.
Thousands are going into Germany and are in need of food, housing, clothing, and basic necessities. The facilities and resources at YWAM Nuremberg are currently availed to those in need, and there are roughly 40 refugees living in the YWAM centre there.
Apart from volunteers, there is a need for finances to cover the costs of hosting people for the next 3 months.
The financial cost for each person is €502 (SGD 733.45) per month/€1,506 (SGD 2,200.36) for 3 months.
To accommodate 40 people for 3 months, a total of €37,704 (SGD 55,08.99) needs to be raised.
On top of accommodating Ukrainian refugees, YWAM Nuremberg is also making plans to transform the YWAM facilities into a local distribution centre for aid.
Many Ukrainians are arriving with only the clothes on their backs. The YWAM centre will become a place to offer and run programs and activities (kids programs, stuff for mums) for Ukrainians arriving in this city, as well as a place to continue collecting supplies that will be sent directly to Ukraine.
For the next 3 months, an estimated €27,592 (SGD 40,313.71) would be needed for this.
TLDR:
From accommodating people, to running the distribution centre, to purchasing and delivering medicine, €78,000 (SGD 113,963.07) is needed these few months.
Since I can't physically be there to help in the running of relief work, I'll be running 100km from Apr 17 - May 18 to raise funds for the work on the ground. You can follow my running adventures on Instagram @faithkwhy. If you'd like to join me for a run and to share about this fundraiser, do let me know!
Would you consider giving? :)
