Help Jack Buy, Drive, and Deliver Two Evacuation Vehicles to Ukraine
UPDATE:Ā Jack has now returned from his first mission to Ukraine, and will be returning in November 2025 to deliver ANOTHER evacuation vehicle, thanks to your phenomenal support. Please help us make this next mission a success.
I'm Driving a Used Toyota to UkraineāNo, Itās Not a Metaphor.
Dear Friends and Family,
Itās rare that Iād quote Martin Luther King, Jr. when Iām not on a golf course, but here we are.
āInjustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.ā
On any given day in Ukraine, someone's life depends on a reliable, versatile vehicle that doesn't exist. And too often,Ā someone dies waiting.
With nearly 600 rescue vehicles destroyed, damaged, or lost in Ukraineāand that number growing dailyāevery vehicle matters.
A soldier bleeding out in a field. A grandmother having a heart attack during an air raid. A child injured by shrapnel. They all need the same thingāsomeone to get them to safety. Fast.
That someone is meāa guy who once spent a half hour looking for a t-shirt he was already wearing. This September, Iāll be driving a used Toyota 4x4 across Europe. What could possibly go wrong?
Why I Keep Going Back
I could stay home, watch the news, shake my fist at the TV, and repeat the cycle daily until I morph into a giant throw pillow with a head. But Iāve seen too much toĀ sit still. Since the war began, Iāve made four trips to Ukraine, serving meals in military hospitals, orphanages, and displacement centers with organizations like World Central Kitchen and HopeFull. I've lived through rolling blackouts, mandatory curfews, missile attacks, and 4 a.m. air raid sirensābut I've also witnessed resilience, kindness, and community in the darkest hours. Thatās what keeps pulling me back.
I'm heading back soon. But this time, I'm trading apron strings for a steering wheel.
One Toyota. One Driver. One Mission. Many Bathroom Stops.
Driving Ukraine vehicles, 4x4 pickup trucks and ambulances, are purchased in the UK and modified by dedicated volunteers, before beingĀ placed with essential teams in Ukraine including: ambulance crews, 4x4 evacuation teams, first-aid responders, international volunteer medics, humanitarian bomb disposal units, hospitals, among others.
The urgent need for international support in Ukraine is undeniable, particularly today even as some sort of peace is discussed. The longer this invasion persists, the more challenging it becomes for Ukraine. The war is now inĀ its fourth year. The future of Ukraineās survival hangs in the balance with new international leaders in power. The Ukrainians need more vehicles, aid, and international support from volunteers than ever before.
The toll of this conflict is staggering, with tens of thousands of civilians killed, countless more injured, and hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure damage. 4,000,000 Ukrainians have lost their homes,Ā 10,000 missiles have been launched at the country, and over 1,000 medical facilitiesĀ have been destroyed.
We request your support in raising $12,000 (Ā£9,000) and beyond to transport a 4x4 vehicle*
*We are now aiming to fundraise for a SECOND vehicle due to the phenomenal response so far.
Funds raised beyond this will buy a drone jamming device to prevent the vehicle being destroyed by FPV drones. More details below.
Vehicles are destroyed by the harsh war-torn conditions, further exacerbated by the cold winter which Ukraine will soon be approaching. Vehicles are destroyed by the enemy: bullets, artillery, shrapnel are key causes, butĀ dronesĀ are the largest threat.Ā
An example āEWā Electronic Warfare drone jamming system is below. Specifically the āAmulet 7Mā.Ā
This technology is made by volunteers in Lviv and seeks to block a range of frequencies which drones rely on to fly.Ā
Kamikaze drones aiming for our vehicles are stopped 180 metres away: depending on the settings they are forced to either lose connection and fall from the sky, emergency land, or return to āhomeā, all of which prevent destruction to the vehicle, and protect the lives of the driver, the passengers, and any wounded soldiers the vehicle is carrying.
