The Child Welfare Wake House Visitation Center is the only visitation center of its kind in the State. It provides supervised and monitored visitation between a parent and child in the custody of Child Welfare to support, strengthen and assess the parent-child relationship. The home-like atmosphere provided at the facility encourages interactive activities between children and their families which has proven to result in higher rate of reunification. The center sees an average of 180 families a week. The high traffic and usage of this facility has resulted in the deterioration of many areas of the building and it's furnishings. We need your help to pour back into this facility and turn it into the beautiful home -like space it was always meant to be. Families, no matter where they are in their journey deserve an inviting space where they can heal with dignity and be comfortable spending time with their children.
Please join us in this community centered collaborative mission where we will revitalize this important facility in Wake County. Your group can "adopt" an entire room, sign up to be part of the cleanup crew or the organization team. Can't sponsor an entire room? No problem. We accept any donation amount, donation of professional services, or you can purchase items from our wish list.
Please note: this project is BIG! We are dealing with a government owned facility, so approvals have to be made for every single item installed, wall painted, and nail hammered into the wall. Should our proposals be refused, please know the donations you have generously and prayerfully given will be redirected to other projects surrounding foster care in your community.
