Welcome to the capital campaign page for The Reverie at Fruitdale! We are raising capital for the development of a solution to homelessness focused on youth/young adults aging out of foster care. We want to provide an affordable home to take the young adults from homelessness to homeownership. We are seeking $3.5 million to build the Reverie at Fruitdale. The total project includes 32 micro homes; community services, health center, and workforce development components.
Our vision is to mitigate homelessness by creating thriving spaces. We collaborate with our partners to increase access to healthcare, healthy living, and vital income within a community of stable affordable housing.
Our micro homes at The Reverie will be approximately 150-250 square feet with a loft, full kitchen, and bathroom. These homes will be located in a safe and welcoming community setting to create the ideal space for sociability, comfort, and access. This innovative program structure is transformative to those moving through the challenges of homelessness.
In addition to access to stability and opportunities to thrive, a Reverie Micro Home will be "gifted" to the residents after 8 years and 4 months of continuous rental. This will be at no cost and will, for many, be the beginning of wealth building that can extend to their family. Along with building generational wealth, the resident will develop bonds with the surrounding neighborhoods that strengthen a sense of stability and confidence.
Not only does this program benefit the individual, but it also benefits the surrounding neighborhoods. Our goal is to create neighborhood stabilization with individual stabilization. While giving access to the residents of The Reverie, the community of Fruitdale will also benefit from access to currently unavailable resources. While the residents have their own health center, community center, and garden, Fruitdale will benefit from an on-site grocery store and public events.
