The Parker Project

Since 2019, we have had the great privilege of providing roughly 12,000 free/by donation spay or neuter surgeries to countless tribal communities. When the project first started in 2019, we had no idea the path it would take, the number of lives it would impact, and the relationships it would develop over time. What started as a project solely dedicated to spay and neuter, quickly developed into a well-oiled machine that was able to offer care for parvo patients, sick and injured animals, tick-borne diseases, sexually transmitted cancers, in-house hospitalization, and facilitation of treating the entire patient instead of just providing spay or neuter for them. We have a very small but mighty staff team of two that spends hundreds of hours every month making sure that the hundreds of patients that come into our care every month get our full attention. At the moment, we are making this work with our original surgical mobile unit. This big machine of a lifesaver is ideal for our surgical team.

As our project grows, and we make plans for the upcoming year, we have our eyes set on a second vehicle that will be able to bring wellness, vaccinations, and treatment directly to the front door of our clients and patients. Many of the community members that need our assistance the most do not have access to transportation, let alone internet. Our plan for next year is to ensure that everyone has the same opportunity to receive our services that their pets so deserve! Our wish is to head out the first Friday of every month to personally sign up patients in the communities we will be serving, as well as treat sick animals and administer vaccinations in the community they are in. Our large mobile currently is not logistically the best option to make this happen. With that said, we are hoping to begin fundraising towards a large van that will be our very own “wellness waggin’”. This vehicle will be the front runner in our plan to impact as many lives as possible. It will not only act as a mobile wellness veterinary unit, but as transportation for sick patients to and from our clinics, as well as surgical patients that would not have had access to transportation otherwise. Not only this, but it will allow us to divide and conquer. One team can work at a larger location on our big mobile, while a smaller crew can hit the more remote communities. It is a dream that is not only attainable, but will make the absolute most impact going forward. We have been so fortunate to have had our parent organization provide our initial surgical mobile, as well as our partner organizations providing continued funding towards our surgical clinics. Now, we are asking the best supporters we know to help us in sharing our dream far and wide! If you are able to make a donation towards this life changing mobile, share this post to as many outlets as possible, or know of any businesses that may be able to make a larger donation for a tax deduction; it would be appreciated more than we can put into words. Next year is going to be BIG, and we are so excited for the opportunity to make it even bigger with this wellness mobile. We love you all. Lets continue to do great things together!
