How my NWC journey started ?
There is a lot of charity runs (I did a couple) but very few charity bike rides. This is how I found the Nicola Werner Challenge. Moritz Werner lost his wife because of cancer. In her memory, he decided to set up a bike ride to raise money for research against cancer, especially HPV-induced cervical cancer. Since 2016, the NWC organization has managed to collect € 300 000, in the benefit of Institut Gustave Roussy and the German Cancer Research Center. Due to relatives and friends impacted by this disease, I could only be supportive of Moritz' and the NWC mission.
In September this year, I will ride with the NWC for the third time. This is not a race, but you choose the speed group you want to ride with. Until now I was in the 26 kmh group. This year, as fighting against cancer is a daily challenge for patients and researchers, I decided to humbly challenge myself too by raising the bar and registering with the 28kmh group.

Now, wether you donate or not, please get your kids vaccinated against HPV. It can be done for free in French Collèges. 8000 cancers could be avoided in France each year if the whole population were vaccinated.
