Fifteen percent (15%) of the world’s blind population resides in Africa where over 27 million individuals have visual impairments. Tragically, while 80% of these impairments are treatable, they go untreated as a result of poverty.
At Relief for Human Suffering Foundation (R4HSF), we are passionate about creating a world where a person’s ability to enjoy the gift of sight is not dependent on the location of their birth or the color of their skin. Since our founding in 2021 and thanks to generous supporters like you, we have provided free routine eye screening, cataract surgery or prescription lenses to over 10,000 individuals on the continent but there is more needed
In 2023, we will continue this important work in Africa and look to expand our impact to more countries in other part of the developing world
