In 2016 our founder, Mary Colwell, took on the challenge to walk 500 miles across Ireland, Wales and England to highlight the plight of the Curlew.
Out of that walk Mary wrote Curlew Moon and from Curlew Moon Curlew Action was born. To mark the 10th anniversary of her walk we're inviting people who care about Curlew to join us in virtually recreating her route, to highlight the continuing plight of of this magnificent but endangered bird, while raising funds to support the conservation and education work of Curlew Action in the process.
We will be in teams, and the goal for each team is to cover the 500 miles. You can take part in any way you want to - walking, running, cycling, swimming, on a treadmill, in a wheelchair or any other way you like - you choose what suits you best and the miles you add go towards your team total. You just need to let us know so we can fit you into the most suitable team.
