Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and rural communities in Cameroon are among the hardest hit. Women and girls in these areas face the dual burden of climate impacts and limited opportunities to take action. But we believe they can be powerful agents of change with the right tools and support.
That’s why we’re launching the Climate Leadership Academy for Rural Women and Girls—a transformative initiative to train 100 women annually as climate leaders. Through this academy, we aim to empower young women aged 18 to 30 with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead climate action in their communities.
Each participant will undergo a three-month program designed by experts that includes:
- Four weeks of intensive studies on climate change and environmental protection.
- One month of internship for hands-on experience in sustainable practices.
- Four coaching sessions to develop leadership skills and create impactful projects.
AVAF is a completely volunteer-run organization, meaning that 100% of your donation will be used towards equipping the next generation of climate leaders and trailblazers. Providing women with the tools and skills to take action has profound ripple effects within their own communities, countries, and the world. Though we greatly appreciate large donations, even a small donation can transform the lives of hundreds and work to return power back into the hands of rural and indigenous people.
