No doubt, for many of you, the cost of living is a juggle.

It’s hit mainly music too.

mainly music is a lifeline for whānau in your neighbourhood. It represents a joy-filled community of belonging. It’s a place where whānau are served and celebrated.

2026 has been the most challenging since our first mainly music began in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland in 1990.

With the closure of groups after Covid resulting in lower revenue and despite trimming all that we can, costs have increased. We need your help. We, mainly music NZ, exist to serve and support locally hosted mainly music.

Each mainly music is the provision of a time and place where tamariki/young children and whānau find delight in shared experiences through musical activities, are accepted for who they are, and grow educationally. Each mainly music recognises the importance of attachment theory, which contributes to tamariki/children’s security and well-being. Each session provides education and development outcomes, an opportunity for tamariki to enjoy an enhanced attachment experience with their whānau, and for carers to receive parenting tuition by example. There is a strong sense of ‘it takes a village to raise a child’. With guidance by volunteers from local churches, whānau are given the chance to think about the Atua/God-part of life in a loving, sharing environment that welcomes everyone.

The ask isn’t huge when many help. Can you give or ten dollars. Maybe you can give more. Thank you for your support
