The TeacHaiti Earthquake Relief Fund will provide temporary shelter, food, and emotional care for the victims within our reach.
A monstrous 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the southern coast of Haiti on August 14th at 8:30am, leaving the region devastated. At the time of this post, over 1800 deaths have been confirmed and over 75,000 homes destroyed.
Our TeacHaiti students and staff are safe, but some have lost family. In addition, many have family homes in the south and sadly, 40 of these homes are damaged or destroyed. As you can imagine, the experience is reminiscent of the 2010 earthquake and haunting memories have resurfaced for all.
Thank you is not enough for all the inquiries, prayers, and donations. They are appreciated more than you know during this tragic time. Many have asked how to help, and we’ve created an Earthquake Relief Fund toward temporary shelter, food, and emotional care for the victims within our reach. If possible, repairing and rebuilding these homes would be an additional welcomed blessing.
Thank you again for your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time in Haiti.
