Our mission is to provide custom palliative care with integrated, on-the-water therapy programs that put patients and caregivers facing cancer and terminal illness back in the driver’s seat.
Historically, cancer care has been limited to pain management and treats only the patient, with hospice being introduced in the final stages once quality of life has diminished. Little is customized, support groups infrequent and caregivers are experiencing burnout, yet studies have shown that patients who receive palliative care live longer compared to those who don’t.
At Tautira Foundation, we setting a new heading to re-image outpatient care and where it is delivered. Rooted in personal experience as caregivers, our organization seeks to provide innovative solutions that bring patients & families out of a standard hospital setting; we firmly believe that time away from vinyl floors and florescent lighting allows for a more clear path forward to tackle the challenges surrounding an integrated treatment plan for the mind & body, support for loved ones and community connection (being on the water is just the icing on the cake).
We're in our early stages of development, looking to launch our first year of programming in ~2028. For more information, please visit www.tautira.org
