TAPP Coalition is looking for monthly supporters to bolster our main activities of 2024:

In Europe and internationally, we are committed to promote pricing of greenhouse gases in the agri-food chain, for instance through an Emissions Trading Scheme (Agri-ETS) or at country level with GHG-emission taxes for livestock (like the Danish government proposed).

We support governments of developing countries with the realisation of a tax on meat (or an Agri-ETS) in rich countries, with the levy proceeds being partly used for the new Loss & Damage Fund.

We make it clear to politicians that a fair price for meat and dairy is not an unpopular measure and enjoys broad support, in EU countries and also internationally. Especially when combined with a 0% VAT tax rate for healthy, sustainable food products like veggies & fruit.

We urge the new Dutch government to make healthy and sustainable food cheaper, and unhealthy, polluting food more expensive.
- We proved that a majority of Dutch livestock farmers support a high VAT rate on meat and dairy, if tax revenues are used to support farmers to improve animal welfare (similar to the German Tierwohl cent proposal of the German Agriculture Ministry). We advocate this proposal.
