Support Needed for School Sweaters and Sportswear 2025
We are reaching out for your support to help us provide school sweaters and sportswear for our children in Jinja and Kampala. Since the start of our sponsorship program, we've been committed to supplying school uniforms, sweaters, and sportswear to our lower-level sponsored children at the beginning of each academic year. This effort has always been separate from the school fees we cover.
Current Challenges
Previously, the relatively low school fees in Jinja allowed us to manage these needs within the sponsorship funds. However, due to the depreciation of the Euro and rising costs in school fees, nutrition, and transport, our program now faces challenges in maintaining these provisions, leaving us able to provide only uniforms. These items are essential for a conducive learning environment and play a crucial role in our children's academic performance.
Importance of Additional Clothing
A single school uniform worn from Monday to Friday poses hygiene challenges, but having sportswear allows children to alternate and maintain cleanliness. Additionally, sportswear is necessary for participation in school sports activities. During the cold rainy season, a school sweater is vital as it prevents children from missing classes. As children grow and uniforms wear out, it becomes necessary to replace these items annually.
