Your contribution will change the lives of disadvantaged kids and disabled people in the Dominican Republic.
Summary
Palanca Solidaria provides technical and entrepreneurial education to deaf people and women with physical disabilities.
Photography for Deaf People
Under the concept of Inclusive Inclusion, we started the very first photography class in the Dominican Republic for a mixed group of deaf and hearing young people. We’ve organized several photo exhibitions the country showing the works of our students.
We place a particular emphasis on making our best to save our planet and being supportive of causes seeking to improve children’s lives in the country. Therefore, through our exhibition, we encourage our students support the initiative Tapitas x Quimio, a campaign that seeks to collect a total of 4.5 million plastic caps to be sold to recycling centers, and with the money raised, afford the treatments of children with cancer.
Entrepreneurship Program
We train women with physical disabilities in Texting Printing Technique so they can prepare customized clothing and start their own business. As the new entrepreneurs do not have a proper place to develop their business, we allow them to use our SOLIDARITY COWORKING Space, a comfortable place where they can work on T-shits, hats, swimsuit, mugs, hoodies and a wide range of garment.
Challenge
We need funding to expand our project to reach and train more entrepreneurs and also to improve our services.
With your support, we will buy new tools so we can help the entrepreneurs offer new services to their clients.
In the short term, we need to purchase a Digital Embroidery Machine, a large format Dye-Sublimation Printer DTF Printer, a Silk Screen Printing Kit and a Hat Press Machine.
Thank you for your support to improve lives of people struggling with physical disabilities.
