This giving season, donate to The Opera Buffs Singer Grant Program, which provides funds to support young, exceptional singers in the LA area who are eager to pursue a careers in opera.
After singers receive their Masters degree in music and want to pursue a career in opera performance, they can spend up to $15,000 a year trying to advance their careers. Costs such as audition and competition fees, travel expenses, continuing education expenses (voice lessons and coachings), among many things, can deter many exceptional singers from pursuing a career.
The Opera Buffs hold two auditions annually to hear and get to know the singers in our community, and then we invite a number of those vocalists whom we believe are ready to take that next step in their career, to apply for a grant. Grants range anywhere from $500-$2500 and are awarded to singers based on merit and career potential. The Opera Buffs has helped many singers attain international success including operatic superstars Charles Castronovo, Joshua Guerrero, tenors, Sondra Radvanovsky, Danielle de Niece, Angela Meade, Angel Blue and Julie Adams, sopranos, among countless others.
Please consider making a contribution to our Singer Grant Program and help talented, young singers pursue their dreams, and join a community of individuals who recognize the importance of providing equal opportunity to the arts. Unfortunately, opera, and classical music for that matter, have very difficult barriers for entry, preventing many deserving and exceptional singers from pursuing a career. Help us break down these walls by providing financial support to singers who deserve to be heard, so that they can put all their focus on being the best artist they can be!
